5 food musts for Christmas 2017

If you haven’t already guessed i absolutely love food and trying new things, so i’ve been sampling a whole range of different foods in the last month to decide what food i will be serving at Christmas.

Majority of the supermarkets have really gone to town this Christmas with their food selection, whatever your budget it, you’ll be able to find something tasty… Please let me know if you have tried any foods you’d recommend.

Top 5 foods (no particular order):

Mini beef croissants

These are absolutely delicious, the perfect buffet food or just to eat to yourself all in one go. I love these with English Mustard but they still taste great alone. There is just the right ratio of pastry to beef. They’re so yummy!

Price: £2.49 – 12 pack

Where: Aldi

Salted Caramel Profiterole Stack

So, a little pricier than some desserts from other supermarkets. But oh my goodness, they are worth every penny! They’re possibly one of THE BEST desserts i have ever tasted. I really, really, really hope they aren’t just here for Christmas. They are 100000% times better than normal profiteroles and how is that even possible?

Price: £14 for 30 (I can’t seem to find the smaller packs online)

Where: Marks and Spencers

Salted Caramel Profiterole Stack

Mini toad in the hole with honey sausages

I don’t know what it is about these but i really love them! I only brought them to try and to see what they’re like. I think its the honey in them that makes me crave them when i’m hungry, it’s a really unusual taste but it works! I’d recommend trying them just for the experience alone even if you’re not a huge fan of toad in the hole.

Price: £3 for 12

Where: Iceland

Mini chocolate cups

Another dessert favourite, i prefer the salted caramel. They literally melt in the middle, it’s the perfect option if you fancy something little and sweet or even as a gift, as they’re so responsibly priced.

Price: £2.79 for 12

Where: Aldi

Aldi mini chocolate cups

Prosecco, Cranberry and Orange Cocktail Sausages

As i’m sure you’ve guessed from the title, these are something very special. These are delicious, i’d definitely recommend these for your christmas buffet. They’re that little bit more special than your usual ‘cocktail sausage’ without even having to pay anything extra. They’re from the fresh isle not freezer section.

Price: £1.99

Where: Aldi

prosecco, organge and cranberry sausages

Will you be trying any? Again, if you have any recommendations please let me know them in the comments below and i’ll be sure to try them out.

Love,

Ellie x
